Attorney General Joshua Wallard Suspension

Statement From The Office Of Governor Joshua Adamson

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | May 17, 2024

ALDEN - Today I announced that we would be opening an investigation into the conduct of incumbent Attorney General Joshua Wallard, who has served as the 57th Attorney General Of Mesa since April 20, 2023, and had served as the Attorney General under then-embattled Governor Kirk Paul(19th Governor Of Mesa). Under Paul, AG Wallard dropped the charges against Then-Governor Kirk Paul in a(presumed) attempt to cover up the tracks of Governor Kirk Paul, and provide a sanctuary for Governor Kirk Paul to hide behind. Wallard has continued to prosecute specific cases, and my office has reviewed these instances and have come to the conclusion that Wallard supports dropping charges and cases against those who have either; supported him in any capacity; are part of the Republican Party; or other people including families, friends, and allies, including Governor Kirk Paul who it has been revealed had ties to Wallard in Congress.

Under the oaths that State Attorney Generals take before assuming the office, Wallard had violated that oath by choosing to not investigate and prosecute Kirk Paul for his harmful policies that led to the deaths of two Trans teenagers, who were beat to death. His inaction violates the oath and his duty to protect those of the State of Mesa. In doing so, he continues to destroy the fabric of Mesa's justice system. Therefore, I have decided to execute my authority(MSA Title 394, Section 3981, subjection 251 entitled: "Governor's Authority To Suspend, Terminate, Limit, Or Block Any Official Elected In The State Of Mesa From Executing His or Her Duties Amid A Legal Matter, Case of Settlement."). As of May 17, 2024 at 4:52 PM, Attorney General Wallard is no longer an active office of the Mesa Department Of Justice or the Mesa State Court System.

As Wallard's suspension takes effect, Deputy Attorney General Matthew Roll will assume temporary duties of the acting Attorney General until the conclusion of the investigation into Wallard. Acting AG Roll, will not be able to prosecute any cases active under the hand of AG Joshua Wallard. This action is non-negotiable and is in affect following the affixation of my electronic-signature on the bottom of this statement.
