ALDEN - I am extremely disheartened by the attempt on the life of Former US President Donald Trump during his Pennsylvania rally yesterday evening. Political violence is never okay and we must come together to address the temperature in the political world. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those affected by the shooting including the deceased spectator who was shot, to those who attended the event, and those who were injured. I am very thankful that Donald Trump survived the assassination attempt and our prayers are with him and his family.

On behalf of this state, we want to send our sincerest support to the United States as they navigate this unimaginable event. We are grateful for the fast actions of the Secret Service and are lowering our flags for the victims of the shooting and for President Trump.
