Statement From Governor Joshua Adamson
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 10, 2025
Today, Governor Joshua Adamson has the sad task of announcing the passing of one of the US' most influential voices in Republican and Conservative politics, Charlie Kirk. Charlie was speaking to students of the Utah Valley University, where he was conducting constructive debates, when a single bullet was fired, striking Kirk in the neck. The disturbing video posted online, which has since been seen millions of times across multiple platforms.
Charlie was an extraordinary leader, who sought to educate for peaceful and health debates between people with differing opinions. His death comes at a devastating loss to not only the Republican/Conservative movement, but to his family, and friends, including his wife Ericka and their two children. His death serves as a reminder that political violence does not solve anything, and that we must work to denounce any forms of political violence.
My heart and prayers go to the Kirk family, and to all that knew and loved him. The political world lost a great voice, and his death will be felt for the foreseeable future. May he rest in peace.
Signed,
Joshua Adamson
Governor Of Mesa
